Hey Guys

So I have a movie file that I would like to change the picture for.
Usually the icon is the first frame of the movie but how would I change that to a different picture.

Open the file.

Play to the frame you want as the icon. Pause.

Right-click. Set as poster frame ...

You need to convert the picture to an icon. Try Img2icns

sorry to be such a noob
but
i did that and it changed the icon in the upper left hand corner but in the get info box on the bottom the preview is still showing up as the first fram and it using that for the icon for the movie.

Go back to the original instructions, if you successfully converted your pic into an icon:

I think OS X overwrites the icon for videos with the preview picture, regardless of what you set it to.
I just tried it on .avi, .mov, .wmv, .m4v, .mpg, .mpeg and .rm. Works fine on all of them.
