I went to the cinema last night to see PoP

it was amazing

amazingly bad!!

my god! I have never in my entire life see such crap, badly shot, badly acted bilge!

I like Jake Gyllenhaal, I liked him in Brothers... but I thought this movie looks crap and you've just confirmed it for me. Definitely won't be going to see it.

Agreed, went to see it last weekend and i was really disappointed. Considering the amount of money they spent on it you would have thought they would have made a better script. Even for a video game it was lame. Massive plot holes and not enough action either.

Still better than Max Payne though ;)

That sucks. I was looking forward to this after playing the first game. Ah well, saves me money and I'll just rent it.

That also reminds me, time to sell my BR copy of MP.

so was it really that bad? how were the action scenes?

The action was ok, nothing great, the only good bit i had already seen in the trailer anyway. There was a distinct lack of wall running and dagger of time usage. Most of the action could have been in any other movie

also it was filled with random pointless scenes
suddenly the action would cut to some horse riders, then back again!
it was very monty python*

*without any of the humour

Knew it would suck when Jake Gyllenhaal was cast. He's better suited in dramas. He's not an action star.

Agreed. Brothers and Jarhead were both great flicks.

I really had no desire to see this in the first place. You know what else was disappointingly dull (and doesn't warrant it's own thread)?

Robin Hood.

A white guy with a fake British accent in a movie set in Persia? How can this movie not be GREAT!!!!!

Robin Hood.

You can tell that they were going for 'Batman Begins" vibe with Robin Hood. It was more about how he came to be. However they got it wrong as it wasn't that entertaining and a bit dull.

From the ending however you can tell the second one should be better.

I have yet to see a good movie that has been based off of a video game. It just can't happen.
