Purchased The Revenant 1 month ago. Yesterday i noticed were not in my library, tried to search in the store with no results. Contacted Apple today and they said the movie has been removed from the Italian store and they issued a refund. This is a very bad service. They remove purchased titles without a notification to the customer. Sucks.

Likely removed from the store for copyright purposes or something similar, outside of Apple's control. They refunded you too. Could've been worse.

It happens. It shouldn't when you've purchased it. Yet another reason I don't purchase digital copies.

It's very very very unusual for it to disappear from your library. I've only had just one experience of that and it was because the independent very tiny film maker changed distributors. I've had a few foreign film get taken off the iTunes store BUT they are still available for me to stream. If you love the film, simply download it and TimeMachine it to your weekly backup drive (any write down the date that it was backed up) that's what I do. For me, the instant, simplicity and beautiful quality of iTunes films far outweigh the negatives. In fact, once you've downloaded it, there aren't any negatives. We all watched Everest last night in HD from iTunes and my word, that picture quality was absolutely stunning!
I just can't understand people that spent their time ripping bluRays etc. They must waste so much of their time when they could be doing lovely things!

It's quick, easy and automated. I won't lose a movie a purchased when a studio pulls it. If i'm having internet problems I can still watch my stuff. And I can retain the HD audio track.

And you can't download 4k copies from itunes.

I used to rip movies also, but stopped once Apple started offering extras on streamed content. Ripping got too tedious.

Too tedious? I put the disc in and push start and come back later. That's not tedious.

I don't care about extras. I care about HD audio. And my purchased movies not disappearing.

Tedious comes with the storage and backup of that media. After having to replace/upgrade drives, I said : F’ it

Never looked back since.

I use a drobo. I gave up on the servers I was running as that was more work. Now a light changes and tells me to replace a drive. Pop one out and put a new one in. Done. I can do it in 10 seconds. And it's protected against 1 drive failure. Though it can be enabled to protect your data against 2 drive failures.

Like I said....tedious. I don’t want to do any sort of storage maintenance. Let Apple, Google, Amazon etc Handle that.

I agree i believe that if Apple is aware that a film is going to be pulled and it is no longer going to be playable from their storage then they should have an automated Email system that tells you two days before it is pulled. This gives the user a chance to download it and back it up.
It's a HUGE problem for Apple and their reputation because of how ATV 4K is marketed. As a iTunes 4K film player from the iCloud. As we know, you cannot download these 4K files. Apple have a lot of to work here as Airplaying/Homesharing a 1080p HD download is not the same as streaming a 4K Dolby Vision iTunes film! They sincerely need to have some sort of agreement as it's truly evil to steal somebodies purchase.
Luckily it does not happen often but it does feel like theft when it does. And in my honest book, it is theft when you have purchased something. The craziest thing is, the majority of the world download pirated version of films. But we purchased and we got robbed. Now who are the dishonest pirates?

In reality because of this, I truly believe that streamed films should have a RRP of £4.99 not the £9.99 currently. Also iTunes charging £5.49 for a rental is totally bonkers. They've priced themselves out of the market there.

I had the same think in U.S store.

The worse case would be u don't get a refund. We trade convenience for control...
