My 2 kids each have an iPad. One of them has an iPad1 and the other an iPad2. They wanted me to put the Stars Wars Clone Wars movie onto their iPads so I converted my blu-ray and sucked it into iTunes using MakeMKV and Handbrake. Problem is when I sync their iPads it will not copy over to the iPad1. At first I thought it was a resolution issue but aren't the Ipad1&2 the same? I didn't think the resolution increased until the iPad3.

Any help would be appreciated!

Here is a screen shot of the movie info.

Is there enough space available on the iPad 1?

Make sure in iTunes for iPad 1 the sync videos is checked. Also check on space like mentioned. With that resolution I'd assume the file is about 2-2.5GB though it could be less.

Plenty of space and the box is checked.

I went back in to Handbrake and redid the conversion to the iPad preset. I do all my handbrake conversions with the ATV3 preset since I stream all the videos throughout the house. The iPad preset did the trick but it still doesn't explain why the high res (HD) videos sync with the ipad2 and not the 1

I'm pretty sure the iPad 1 is only capable of up to 720p, while the iPad 2 can do 1080p.

Nope, just looked up the specs on the Apple website:

iPad 1-->1024-by-768-pixel resolution (video supported up to 720p)
iPad 2-->1024-by-768-pixel resolution (video supported up to 720p)
iPad 3-->2048-by-1536-pixel resolution (video supported up to 1080p)
iPad 4-->2048-by-1536-pixel resolution (video supported up to 1080p)

So this keeps me stumped even further.

Thanks for the link. That would explain it. Really appreciate it.

Looks like the other info I got from the "support/tech specs" section on the Apple website had incomplete info.
