Does anyone have any life changing movies in mind?

I have to say the first time I saw Donnie Darko (at 1-2am) I thought the world had turned upside down. :D

Yours?

Closer. It made me want to never go back to an R rated movie ever again; of course, the foolish child I am has gone back to see R rated movies. You'd think I'd learn after such horrible experiences!

Moulin Rouge. Got me through a really tough time in my life. Really, don't ask how a French whore with tuberculosis did that, but the movie did.

I want to say Big Fish, even though I cannot even remember it at all. I guess it changed my life for 5 minutes in that I cannot remember what I learned either.

The only thing I remember from the movie is the place where no one wears shoes.

Maybe I learned not to let strangers take me shoes.

A Man for all Seasons

About Sir Thomas More and his role in the 'divorce' between King Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. And Sir Thomas had his head chopped off. He was a giant in the department of integrity, IMO.

The Quick and The Dead with Sharon Stone is another one for me. I think I was 14. Up until that point, I had a good time watching any movie at the theatres. It was the first movie to make me want my money back. And it was the first time I thought about who made the movie and their motive/inspiration for it. It sucked. Now I'm never happy with anything.

Dazed and Confused

Seriously, Dazed and Confused absolutely changed life for us in college. I can't tell you how much consumption of a certain herb increased following the release of this movie on VHS.

Pulp Fiction changed the way I look at movies. It was the first "great" movie that I saw in the theater... brilliant.

PS... college was a long time ago... I'm now a very responsible member of society.

Fight Club helped me get out of a tough time in my life. And Million Dollar Baby helped me accept what happened to my grandfather.

[]The Princess Bride. I never knew a movie could have plot holes the size of the Grand Canyon and still be THAT good.

-- Oh!, does the School House Rock DVD count? I loved those spots when I was four, they were the first thing that interested me in writing...~Then I unpacked my adjectives~

Fight Club.

It felt like that whole darn movie was written and filmed just for me. Changed my thinking and what I was working my butt off for at 60 or more hours a week. "The things you own end up owning you". That, and I have some anger management issues that I related to. Probably seen that movie at least 100 times.

You really ARE my Alter-ego... Or am I yours...? It's like every where I go you're always one step ahead of me...
