Hello,

I am currently moving my imovie events off of my imac and on to an external to get some space back. I was about to transfer but decided to open up and event first to see it's contents. As expected I saw the video clips from that event but to my surprise there was another folder titled imovie cache and another titled imovie thumbnails. When I opened the thumbnails they were a replica of the contents in the imovie events for that specific event. When I opened cache there was one video and a .plst file.

So my question is, do I have to worry about transferring the cache folder and the imovie thumbnails folder. Isn't transferring these a bit redundant?

thanks,

cfs

I think the cache is used to access some data more quickly and the plist are preferences. I don't think these need to be copied over, but if they're small compared to you actual clips it's better to be safe than sorry.
