Movies playback too fast

Hi all,

I was wondering if you could help me, it has become very frustrating. I don't know if I actually hit a wrong key or not (it was during the night so I wasn't seeing anything) but it seems like now my movies and videos are just playing too fast. The sound seems okay (doesn't feel rushed much) and in synch with the video but when the characters are moving its like its a bit fast forward.
I normally use VLC and also tested on Quick Time with same result.
Tried to change with slower rate and stuff but doesn't work, as well as hitting all the keys again
The rush on certain videos is definitely more noticeable than on some others but it's present with every one of them (and every player)

It might be that the frames per second are different than normal. Did you try to time it (whether the movie IS actually faster). If not, it might be that it shows the frames in another speed. Like less frames or something. Try to reinstall VLC (so all the settings are resetted).
