Good news! I just saved a ton of money by switching to Geico, so I'm going to buy a new Mac Pro but I have some questions about reselling my G5 tower.

How do I go about cleansing the hard drives of all my user preferences, created files, downloads etc. without WIPING the HD clean with a fresh install of leopard? I want the next owner to be able to use all the apps I have installed but none of my other crap. I really don't want to have to wipe/re-install EVERY bit of software I have on here.

Just drag everything you want to be deleted into the trash and after that you empty the trash securely (open Trash > Preferences > Advanced > empty Trash securely).
Now all the date will be overwritten.
But it seems to be cpu intensive.
