Moving App file to another computer

I downloaded an app on my laptop & want to move it to my desktop. I don't want to sync it to my iphone until it's on my desktop. Can I copy the file (where is it) & then put it in the itunes folder (where) on my desktop?

drag and drop the app onto itunes on desktop, and it'll put it in library.
