Hi all,

Yesterday I finally got round to installing Lion on my 2009 Mac Pro. I the hit all the OS updates and then updated all the major programs I use along with tons of plug-in updates. The whole process took about 14 hours and right after I had finished I went to clone the sparkly fresh unpolluted drive and it failed - bad sectors.

It is now un-bootable but I can still access files. I have again installed Lion on one of the internal backup drives I had cloned last week and run OS updates again. So the question is, can I save myself the pain of downloading/updating all the programs and plug-ins again by using the Apps folder on the failed drive or is it not that easy. I have looked at Migration assistant but can't tell whether it works between 2 drives on the same machine.

Can anyone advise me please?

Regards
