Hello all,

How does Apple handle apps and licensing?

By that I mean when one purchases an app is that app tied to the user or device? In other words when/if I upgrade devices, will I be able to load my previously purchased apps on a new device?

Thanks
David

Ya, you should be fine.

In fact, you could buy an iPod Touch today, a new iPhone in the summer and keep your existing iPhone and still use the same app.

I'm not positive, but I think there may be a limit to the number of devices you can have the same app on (five?) - but generally speaking you should have no problems.

The Mrs. and I share 1 iTunes account and each have a 3G iPhone. Single app purchase is on both phones and no problems.

i've put a purchased app on 5+ devices with no problems. they are all under the same account.
