I am in the process of moving from a yahoo mail account to gmail.
I am aware that one can ask gmail to import your yahoo data, but this seems to be an all or nothing process.

I have tried to move a yahoo mail folder to the gmail account using the Apple Mail client, but this seems to create the folder/label on gmail but not actually upload the emails within.

Are you aware of any other method of moving emails in a selective way?

Thanks

I haven't specifically done Yahoo to Gmail but in the past just selecting the emails in the original (Yahoo) folders and copying them to target (Gmail) folders has worked. It's a slow process. I've found that some emails, possibly corrupt, can hang the process…it's relatively rare…so I've always done it a smallish batch of emails at a time.

Thanks. That's the behaviour I would expect, but it didn't work for me.
I will try again. Maybe it was just a bad day.

If anybody is trying to do the same, in the end I manage to make manual copies from Yahoo to Gmail using Mozilla Thunderbird Mail app on a Mac.
In theory the same should be possible using the Apple Mail App but in practice it didn't work for me.
Thunderbird was my solution.
