Moving favorites web sites between iPad etc

I replaced my iPad mini with an iPad mini 3. My reading-list, and frequent-visits migrated over to my iPhone 6+, and my new iPad.

My favorites did not. Everything else did just fine.

Is there a "trick" I overlooked?

Does your "old" iPad mini have iCloud, because if so everything transfers or it did to mine

It does. Only a few settings did not come over:

Favorites
Alerts
IMessage should be off

Everything else appears to be as it should.

I enabled "Family sharing" and the favorites updated. Problem solved.

btw: If you drop your device and a taxicab runs it over it, it will most certainly be "toast". When you buy a new one, and do a restore from backup, most things copy over. iMessage gets turned back on automatically.
