Moving File Vault to New MacBook Pro

File Vault is enabled on my 15" MacBook Pro and I just purchased a new 17" MacBook Pro. Now I am interested in moving the file vault directory to my new 17" MacBook Pro.


Has anyone done this before?

I don't want to disable File Vault on my 15" MacBook Pro, cause I don't have enough disk space to do so.

Is there a easy way to transfer my account to my new laptop?

where is the encrypted image located, when file vault is turned on?

I was thinking, I can move the image to my new 17" MacBook Pro and create the same account info ie, group, username, ID on the new machine.


any help with this will be help.
