Hi.

So i've just started using Mac and i've downloaded a few tunes into the downloads folder and then moved them to music. I cant remember what the file names were so can no longer find them. Is there a way to organise the files in the music folder to show the most recently added? If not what do you recommend

Cheers

thing is i dont want itunes to copy my music into its folders. just a way of viewing recently added files to a specific folder. organizing by date created or modified does not help..

Sounds like you need a smart folder. In Finder, go to File -> New Smart Folder.

Unfortunately, since datestamps are not updated when moving files, you're limited to date created, modified, or accessed. However, downloaded files should be stamped with the date downloaded.

i cant find the date downloaded stamp for smart folder attributes?

often i extract mp3 from rar files though so the original date created is included on them. the rar file itself is deleted automatically
