I've got a new 6S, and currently have a 5S. Is the best option to set the 6S up from clean? or is it safe to backup the 5S and use iTunes to setup from that backup?

I remember before that restoring from old backups can carry some unwanted package that bogs down the phone, whereas a clean start is fresh and fast. That may not be true of IOS9 now.

I've got a few apps that I'd like the progress transferred over, some games, some other apps with account info all set up. Notes and messages.

Just wondering what the best option is for keeping the app data and keeping the new phone running well.

just use an itunes backup, my backup's roots are from the 3gs, now on the 6, its fine. not once ever did i have a problem where the overused overhyped restore as new, fixed vs not doing it.

can always reset settings only after if u think u need to, dont affect data.
