Due to my 5c going wrong (home button not working) and also showing its age plus very poor battery , I am in the process of attempting to transfer my iOs stuff to Android as I have an Xperia M2 lying around unused and hope to use it until I get a newer phone. I will either stick with Android if this is successful (e.g. mid range Xperia or similar) or maybe return to iPhone SE (but these are a bit expensive for my budget).

I worked out that with few exceptions I should be able to find the apps I need on google play but do have the following questions and would value your input, though some I seem to have answered already !

  1. Can I export my iCloud photos so they appear in Google photos? I have already uploaded my iPhone camera roll to iCloud so it is saved.
  2. I have iTunes Match and over 1000 albums on it but they are not stored on my mac and I just stream when I want to listen. Is there an equivalent on Google or would I have to upload each one again?
  3. I cannot find a good plain text editor, is there a decent one like textastic or editorial on iOs? I don’t need markdown but would prefer it as an option
  4. To read my Numbers spreadsheets on Android, I have to export to Excel and then these can be read by google sheets, same with Pages documents but export as word?
  5. Apple Notes, where can I put these and how?
  6. Email for iCloud I have got working using email app though embedded pictures do not display.
  7. What is a good PDF reader like PDF Expert on iOs/Mac which allows annotation too.

So far I have been surprised by how easy the os is to use (it is on 5.1.1) and have no real complaints, just some of the apps I use do not exist (like OmniFocus) but I have started using Evernote which is x platform.

I also noticed that the sound output did not seem as bright or clear as the iPhone even though the M2 is a newer device, but maybe it is entry-level so not as good as the newer ones like Z5 or X, will have to check this out on a newer phone.

In conclusion, I am pleased so far, it is mostly the Cloud stuff that I need to get working as I will continue to use my iPad and my Mac and want to be able to sync or at lease export/import as needed.

Many thanks for any hints, advice or warnings.
