I am moving from a 12" MacBook 2017 to a 13" MacBook Pro 2017. Usually, I would just start again and reload all my stuff but I have everything setup just how I like it at the moment.

I am starting to use much bigger files so need that extra bit of juice the 13" will give me.

Whats the best way of doing this? Don't mind buying an app if that gives the best experience.

My suggestion:
- Get a USB3 hard drive
- Download CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper. Both are FREE to download and use for 30 days
- Use either CCC or SD to create a clone of the MacBook drive
- Take the new MBP out of the box and connect the backup
- Boot the MBP for the first time and begin setup
- When setup assistant asks if you wish to migrate from an older Mac or drive, "point it" towards the cloned backup
- Select WHAT you wish to bring over (apps, accounts, settings, data), and turn SA loose.
- When done, you should be presented with a login screen that will look as your MacBook did...
