I am eagerly awaiting for my shiny new C2D MacBook to arrive at my doorstep. How would I go about moving my files and iTunes/iPhoto library? I have an 80 GB external HD and a 30 GB iPod handy. I don't want to pay for a FireWire cable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

IMHO the Firewire cable is the easiest way to transfer everything (including settings) and it only costs $5. You could use your external HD to store all of you documents and music/movies but I don't think your settings will be changed. Just drag'n'drop the files on the new computer.

Only $5? I thought it would be around $50. I guess I'll do it that way, thanks.
