If I moved my HDD on Macbook 2011 13' to the optical drive and put a new SSD in its original place, what would I need to do that? OWC's DataDoubler is about $70, where there are some on eBay for about $20.

Also, what would happen to my dvd drive if I removed it? Could I plug it in via USB or something to still use it, or would I just have to keep it and not use it?

Thanks

i bought a optibay off eBay for $20. works really well.

the dvd drive you need a usb enclosure.

Im buying this one

in general, the optibay solutions from ebay are working well.

instead of buying an additional external enclosure for your superdrive for $49 i would recommend to buy a dedicated external drive. something like this:

i use exactly this one and it works absolutely flawless.

it's cheaper and it is built for usage on the go.....

that way you can protect your stock superdrive from damage, just in case you would have to install it again for warranty reasons.
