Hi, first time posting.

I've recently upgraded my 2011 MBP to an SSD with ML, and I'm thinking of going the dual drive setup with an HDD in the optibay.

1. For ML, what's the best practice for moving the home folder to the HDD: change location in Sys Prefs; do symbolic links; or a combo of both?

2. I also plan to do a MAMP install in the /Sites folder. Has anybody had any problems doing this with a Home folder in a different volume?

3. How does Time Machine handle a setup like this? I don't plan on doing local snapshots, I just want manual backups to an external HD from time to time.

4. Since my /Applications folder will be in HDD it will probably be slower, but from anyone's experience how significant is the decrease in speed?

5. I've also read that itunes doesn't handle symbolic links as well as other applications; will it matter in this case since the app and its library will be in the same volume?
