iPod touch Moving icons from one screen to another

i want to rearrange the icons. once they start to wiggle, i can move them around on the same screen, but how to i move them to a different screen which has empty spots? i tried sliding my finger to the left to get to a previous screen, but it does not work.

I actually just did this on my iPod! When pressing the icon slide it to the right and KEEP going all the way to the right and it should move it to the next page and repeat for the following page, etc. A few times I had to hold it once it reached all the way to the right but overall it was pretty easy.

Just a tip, may be a little late -

when moving apps around, I empty out my bottom tray and put the ones I want to move there, 4 at a time. Then I stop them from wiggling and move to the page I need.
