I heard that to pass everything from a previous iPhone to the new one, it would be better to upload the iCloud backup from iTunes and not over the air ... so should I disable wifi when setting up my new 6 plus ? Do I need to be ready with iTunes and the cable when switching on my phone for the first time ?

Just do a full backup of your iPhone 5 to iTunes and then connect your 6 Plus to the computer, and restore it from the backup. No need to worry about Wi-Fi or anything like that. If you're worried, just make sure your iPhone 5 is no longer connected to the computer you're restoring from.

i did itunes restore and it failed i was so pissed lost all my #'s!
