Moving iphone sync from one computer to another

Hi everyone,

I am about to switch from one laptop to another & would like to start syncing my iphone 4 on the new laptop. How do I do the transfer? I tried once and the iphone will sync any apps from the laptop to the iphone (none at the moment so it would erase all apps on the iphone) but not the other way round.

I don't have any advice for you, but wanted to bump this as I am in a similar situation. My laptop recently died and we got a new computer, but I don't want to lose everything on my phone (contacts, pics, etc) if I sync it to the new one.

There must be a solution to this, there is no way that this is acceptable. It's like wanting to buy another mac & Apple making it difficult to me. I am not willing to buy another Macbook Pro without understanding how to move my iphone sync process to the new laptop.
