So I just got a new PC laptop and instead of using my iMac to sync my iPhone I want to start using the laptop.

I am going to use Google Sync to sync my address book after I restore the iPhone but what about my apps? Do I have to re-download all of my apps to get them on my PC?

Does this make sense?

Thanks in advance.

If you have photos in the camera roll, you need to download them to your PC before you sync, or you will lose them.

Open iTunes on your new PC, and connect your phone.
If "Automatically Sync is checked, UNCHECK IT.
If auto sync was on when you plugged in your phone, and the phone starts to sync, CANCEL IMMEDIATELY.
Select your device in the left pane, right click on your device and select "Transfer Purchases". That will transfer your apps to iTunes.

Adjust your settings in each tab of iTunes (for your device), before the first sync.
