Earth. I think.
I'm planning on moving my iTunes library to an external drive. I've not done this before, and I found some instructions on doing this online, but they date from iTunes 7, and was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions based on past experiences.

For the record, I am running a Dell XPS M1710, running Windows 7 with iTunes 10.6.0.40.

Not an issue at all - i run mine via Firewire 800 from a Mirrored RAID Drive.
you need to consolidate your itunes library before moving it. It works fine with PowerMac G4, Powerbook G4, PowerMac G5, MBP and Quad Core iMac just fine.

Same here. I consolidated mine on a MBP, and copied it over to a Windows-based machine, which I connect to wirelessly with my router.
