I am about to buy a 1TB external hard drive, and will be moving all of my media to it. Is there anything I need to know inorder to stream the media to my AppleTV? Also, if I put all media on the external, will I be able to access it from multiple User Profiles on my iMac? Thanks so much....I am hoping this isn't a bigger project than I can handle, as I really need to move my media as my iMac hard drive is low on space.

Thanks

You won't have any problems using an external drive for your media. In fact, most people on these boards do just that, since libraries get very large when you start encoding movies and television shows.

What you want to do is copy your library to the external drive and then go into your iTunes prefs and change the folder location that iTunes references. It's under the Advanced tab. Do this on all user accounts and everyone will be able to access the master library.
