Moving multiple files is a pain?

Hi there,

I've only been using a Mac for a short period of time so there might be an easy fix to this. When I move multiple files by dragging them from one Finder window to another, they will stack when moving and then un-stack when dragged to the other window. The thing is - when I let go, they're all in a singe vertical line! Right click -> 'Clean Up' doesn't help this either.

Is there any way to drag files across without having to take the time to reorganise them neatly afterwards?
