moving old user library

so i have an old user folder and os x will not allow me to move the library folder or anything in it to anywhere else (im attempting to replace my current user library). i keep getting errors saying its locked by the system or it cant be modified/moved/copied/anything. annoying! how can i fix this? thanks!

You are trying to do something you're not meant to do!

The whole idea of having more than one account is to enable data confidentiality between the two or more accounts. Data on one account is unreadable by the other accounts.

i really didnt want to, but i ended up just using migration assistant. ill manually delete extra files i suppose.
