Hi

Is it possible to migrate a working parallels installation across to another mac easily? Looking at possibly getting another macbook or MBP and letting my wife use this one for her stuff, but would like to move across the parallels install intact as its all setup with XP and apps etc. Don't want to have to set up two machines!

You will have to reinstall the Parallels application & probably enter its serial number. But it is easy to move the virtual machine. Copy the Parallels folder found in HD > Library to the same location on the new Mac. I like to zip/compress the folder first. As a matter of fact, I keep a zipped copy of the folder that I know has a clean Windows installation (no viruses, spyware, etc.) so that I can just pitch the current folder & go back to a good one if needed.

thanks. Like the idea of keeping a 'safe' version backed up somewhere - especially as I've excluded it from backing up with time machine.
