moving photos from one machine to another

Is there a way of moving iphoto from one macbook pro to another without loosing the titles and keeping the 'events' of the original? When I backup to an external hard drive and then transfer all photos come up as one event.

on you home folder, open 'pictures' and select the entire contents. Drag onto your external drive. Then plug the external drive into the new MBP and drag them all into the pictures folder on the new computer - job done.
