Moving photos in Aperture ?

I must be doing something wrong. I can not move photos from one project to another. When I drag the photo to the new project it copies it not move it. If I delete it from the fist project, it deletes the master so it is remove completely from both projects. There must be a way to move photos. When import from my card reader I want to dump into a temp folder and move the keepers into the appropriate folders.

You have to be careful about where you are selecting the images from to get a move to work. iirc you have to select the image from the actual project, not from an album, folder, lightbox etc in the project.
