Hello, im going to visit my dad next week and planning to help him to set up his brand new iphone 6. Hes got iphone 4 atm.
He dont have apple id and icloud registered at all.
So my plan is first to set up an apple id and icloud for him on his old iphone 4, then do a back up, and after that set up his new iphone 6 and do a restore from that back up.
He dont have a laptop and dont have itunes account. Does my plan makes sense, or im missing something?
Thanks.

Well, looks like everything is clear now after all those helpful replies

Your plan should work. iCloud backup on the old phone, iCloud restore on the new phone is what quite a few people do when they upgrade.

iCloud restores don't put music back unless it was purchased under your Apple ID, but if he doesn't already have an Apple ID or a computer, I doubt he's got any music already loaded on there.
