I've downloaded some entire semesters of those UC Berkeley podcasts, unsubscribed, and now want to get them out of the 'podcasts' section and have them treated as normal albums in iTunes. Problem is, no matter what I do, iTunes remembers they were podcasts (I guess some non-iTunes-editable metadata), and keeps treating them that way. I've tried changing the genre, deleting them from the iTunes library and re-adding, but apparently there's non-editable metadata in there that iTunes uses to categorize these things as podcasts.

Anybody know if this can be done?

Just did this myself on a bunch of old podcasts. Highlight them on the podcasts screen, then go up to the "Advanced" menu and select "Convert to AAC." It takes a few minutes, but after the conversion is done, they'll appear in your music library and you can safely delete the podcasts.

Have fun!
