I have an iMac but I've ordered an MacBook Pro Retna and I'll be giving my iMac to a family member.

My retna doesn't have a drive and all of my app/program's are app based so i can get those easily - I have Sims3 on my iMac but the retna doesn't have a drive and I don't have one or want to get one just for The Sims... Can I move them across to the Retna or is it no more sims??

Thanks!

Share the SuperDrive from the iMac and use that to install on the Retina over the network. You could also make a disk image of the install disc and install off that.

When you start your new Mac a setup assistant will run and ask if you want to move data/apps from another Mac. Tell the assistant you want to migrate from another Mac and point to the iMac as the source and Sims and all your other data and apps will be moved over. Do this during system setup and not after you have already setup an account in the Retina. You can read here how it works.
