iPod Moving Songs from Other into Ipod Audio -- Help Please

Last night I have put about 40 Gb of songs and mp3 books and courses into the drive of my Ipod. I had no itunes (or other soft) installed so i just drag and dropped all the files into my ipod hard drive. It is now showed as OTHER.

1. Is it possible to move the data straight into the audio folder without downloading it to my computer and uploading again with iTunes??

2. For the future, which software should I use to just drag and drop songs into my audio folder without using iTunes??
