In a couple of weeks im moving to Bermuda to live and want to take my iPhone 3G (LOCKED TO O2-UK) with me.
I checked the apple website and Bermuda doesnt have an official carrier listed, yet M3 Wireless on Bermuda claims to support and sell the 3G http://www.m3wireless.bm/phones/AppleiPhone/index.html

I had planned to just jailbreak and unlock when i got there but since all the posts about losing push notifications im worried im going to lose all the features i've got used to.
Would the iPhones that M3 wireless sell be unlocked & would that be why they support all the features?
Is there anyway to officially unlock my iPhone, maybe pay a fee?

I've emailed m3 & apple but to no answer.

thanks in advance

Contact O2 and see if they will unlock it for you (in return for a nominal fee).

Explain that you are moving abroad.

just spoke to O2, the woman said that they were unable to unlock as Apple would not allow them to. Hmmm:mad:

just submitted a form to O2 asking for "unlatching" from there network. See if it works

I have taken the liberty of posting your query on an e-pat Friendly Bermuda site:

I saw quite a few people in Bermuda with unlocked iPhones. Not sure what network they were using but im guessing most were imported locked from US on AT&T

I'm thinking the phones M3 are selling must be factory unlocked. guess i'll just have to fork out for another one if i want all the features :apple:
