Hello,

I would like to open my new iPhone 6 Plus next week and start as a new iPhone instead of restoring a backup but my questions is does anyone know what info is transferred just by signing my new phone into iCloud?

I guess Contacts, Photos, Calendar, KeyChain and Safari settings and bookmarks. Music, Apps, Ringtones and Books can come from iTunes.

So would I loose my keyboard shortcuts? Would I need to add my email accounts manually? Would iMessage history be saved in the cloud too?

Many thanks,

Keiran

no to the ringtones. they and audiobooks aren't in an iTunes history to redownload. Although I believe if you transfer purchases to a computer they are copied and you can sync them over.

As for anything that is a setting like email setups, wallpaper. no. You will lose all of that other stuff.

Contacts, keychain, shared streams, bookmarks, mail, calendars, reminders and notes will be back just by signing in with your iCloud account. Everything else will be lost.
