Hi All,

I've recently upgraded my iPhone to iOS5 and am now ready to make the leap to lion as the first combo update has been released.

What I'd like to know is how does one go about backing up those little things like emails?

Obviously I can take my documents, picture and music folders and copy them to my time capsule drive, or an external, and my calander and contacts are now stored on iCloud, and my new mails all get pointe to there.

However, how do I keep all my old mails?

I'm going to take advantage of a clean install if possible as this will give me a chance to re-install some of my software and discard others. I like to do a yearly spring clean if I can!

Also, are there any tips or things to watch out for which are worth advising on?

many thanks in advance for all your help. :)

what type of email is it?

apologies, mac mail.

i had a feeling you were going to say something im not familiar with, but most emails ive ever used have the mail stored on a server so if you get a new computer or in your case upgrading the OS, emails would always redownload to the mail app after adding it again
