I am thinking of moving from my current Windows based PC to an iMac (when the next refresh happens)

I currently have a network running from home. I have a WHS 2011 based server which holds all my media.

Attached to this I have a desktop PC I use at the moment, a laptop running Windows 7, a HTPC running OpenELEC (Linux based XBMC OS) as well as an iPad and an Android tab. Oh, I also have an iPhone and a Samsung Galaxy S2.

Those devices are shared between my wife and I.

Can anyone advise me on how an iMac will get on with my setup. I want to be able to use the Windows Home Server box for backups and storing my media. How will OSX get on with this? Also, I want to be able to manage the WHS from my iMac - is this possibe?

OS X has Samba to talk to windows file shares. As far as manager your WHS, I'm not sure because I am really not really sure what you mean. Perhaps Remote Desktop Connection from Microsoft would do the trick...

I use Remote Desktop Connection at the moment. I can use that from an iMac as well?

Will "Time Machine" work backing up to a WHS setup?
