Moving to a new country so will get a new phone number. At the moment if I go on my Apple ID in settings it shows I have two factor turned on, a trusted phone number (current number) and a trusted device (this macbook pro that I'm typing on). I'll be bringing this macbook pro with me to the new country.

Can I cancel my phone plan here, then move to the new country and get a new phone number and enter in that new phone number into my Apple ID without it having to verify it using my old number? I assume I can, it will just show a code on my macbook pro when I enter my new phone number. Is this correct?

Just double checking as don't want to find myself in a situation where it's trying to use my old cancelled number to verify me.

Thanks.

I would check with Apple support and not totally rely on answers in here. Be sure to check before you move to the new phone number so you don't get into trouble with the 2FA which might expect confirmation from the old phone.
