Hello,

I am a bit in trouble here. I have recently purchased a previous generation 17" MBP (2.33Ghz one) to replace the newer SR bases 2.2 Ghz Laptop.

I would love to just migrate my OSX install to the 17" MBP with all apps and settings but this does not seem to work, I use CCC to make a clone onto external HDD then boot 17" from this clone, it works but screen is all garbled, I cannot see much.

My guess is that OSX still tries to use wrong video drivers, is there any clean way to force usage of proper X1600 drivers?

Thanks

Is there a reason that you don't just want to do a fresh OS X install on the 17" and then connect the laptops via firewire and use migration assistant? There will be driver differences and little hardware-specific tweaks in each particular OS X install.

I probably could but I do have a bunch of software installed, updates and so on which I am not sure will migrate properly. Full HDD image somehow gives me much more piece of mind.

So, there is no way to force OSX to re-initialize hardware drivers?

This is the only good and easy way to do it.
