We have all done it

We all hate prepping for it

We have all lost stuff because of it

What are some things that you have lost/misplaced only to never be found again after moving?

From my last move, I have lost somehow my snowboard boats, nice blanket, and cologne

I am sure when I packed it, I had the mentality of "this is a great place to put it and I would surely find it again"!

What have you lost?

I lost my new iPod shuffle - although it's so small it's probably hiding behind a peanut on the floor somewhere. Still annoyed though, I'd only had it a week.

I drove from Seattle to Philly. I didn't pack a couple things that well and the motion from driving wore out some things. I also dropped a tv.

In the course of moving in and out of 7 dorm rooms and an off campus house I've surprisingly lost almost nothing important, though I always lose lots of pens. Not sure why that is.

I also have way too much sh** for a college student. It has been accumulating.

My girlfriend.

Not really lost, but I couldn't bring my humongous bookcase when I moved (from my parents' house) because my movers never showed and none of my friends had a truck large enough :(

I was about to say that I've never lost anything in the last ~5 years from various moving I've done, but I recently moved across the country and I don't know where my passport is. Fortunately I believe it expired this year and I don't have any plans to leave the country any time soon, so no worries :)

In my move a couple of months ago, so far:

My drinking glasses

Some movies

My ability to have a quiet evening thanks to the jackass upstairs who as far as I can tell, has a horse.

Some video games

Etc.

Man I hate moving, and I'll probably be doing it again next March. Hopefully that will be back into a house instead of renting these last few years.

I have liquidations aka throwing stuff in the garbage every once in a while to keep my moves less painless.. moved 3 times in the last 3 years, getting ready for a 4th.

I just moved and so far as I can tell I've only lost a bottle of shampoo. Pack your stuff right and if anything, use the move to throw a ton of crap you really don't need or haven't used in a long time and no longer see a need for. I probably threw away a dumpster's worth.
