download from here http://people.mozilla.com/~mfinkle/prism/prism-0.8-mac.dmg
official introduction http://labs.mozilla.com/2007/10/prism/
an review http://macstrac.blogspot.com/2007/11/prism-rocks-create-desktop-apps-for-web.html
Basically, it creates an app for a website on your desktop, or wherever you put it. When open, it runs like an app, with its own cookies (separate from firefox browser), own icons (so far, windows only, I think), ( only one prism app can be run at same time, for now, hopefully they will change this soon, as well as separate cookies among different prism apps)
There is a chance this will be incorporated into firefox 3 such that users can right click and choose "create an app for this url"....
quite interesting.
looks like its derived from code base of firefox 3 beta 2. Will post more info when I get them..
an screenshot for google calendar app.
I can also think of Gmail.webapp being useful, or google reader, lol, google maps.
you can dowload pre-configured *.webapp files (after installation of prism) from here http://wiki.mozilla.org/Prism#Bundles
