I have 2008 (or 2009) MacbookPro 13''. It works perfectly except it won't shut down after syncing iphone with itunes.
I've tried resetting pram/smc/pmu, fresh install, repairing permission, and anything that you can think of.

it's funny because i have no problem shutting down whatsoever as long as i don't SYNC my iphone. for example, if I just connect my iphone and run itunes, but not sync, it would still shut down.

by not shutting down i mean MB goes to this screen with the little rotating thing and it just hangs there. It's that screen that you always see right before your computer shuts down completely.

any ideas?

by the way, i went to verbose mode and it gave me

continuing
unmount of /home failed (45)
unmount of /net failed (45)

but i highly doubt that has anything to do with the problem because those 3 lines would still come up even when I don't have problem shutting down my MB.

Could be a problem with your motherboard. I think you should let Apple take a look at it to see if that's really the problem and if they can fix it.
