So I recently attempted a Monterey install on my 5,1 running OpenCore (prebuilt hardware acceleration package as I don't really need anything other than that) and it failed spectacularly so I reverted back to my previous Catalina install.

I know BigSur is generally stable and would like to attempt to upgrade potentially using OCLP instead. Is the process as simple as letting OCLP build the OC config and following the steps in the guide or is there something else that is needed in order utilize the OCLP program? Or is there a better recommendation overall? Thanks in advance.

I have installed it on two 4,1>5,1s with no problem, and use it daily since the SurPlus fix. In my opinion it seems to run nicer than Mojave or Catalina ever did. I have also installed it on an unsupported 2012 MBP (10,1) with OCLP and it worked fine.

Based on what I have heard from Monterey on even supported Macs, I wouldn't even attempt to install it yet.
