I have a situation with the following components:
Machine: Mac PRO 2010
OS: Mojave on SSD Sonnet PCIE card two SSD on it
GPU: AMD Radeon 7950 3GB
Display: 2x HP ProDisplay P222va
Connection: From Display: DisplayPort to GPU: mini DP
These monitors have the option to switch between the VGA port and DisplayPort by clicking one of the four buttons below of the monitor the choose the "Input Control"
Connection of these two Displays are:
- VGA to a Windows laptop on its docking station (two ports:; VGA and Displayport)
- DisplayPorts both connected to Mac PRO AMD Radeon GPU
When switch to the Windows machine the Display shows the screen
When switch to the MacPRO the HP displays scans their ports (VGA or DP) but nothing happens
I've tried many things like change the battery cell (3Volt CR3220) expecting that perhaps the Mac PRO doesn't hold its vital information but no luck
When connecting the MacPRO to my Samsung TV it works. I have no clue for my next steps and perhaps one you might have a suggestion or suggestions that I've missed to find the solution.
I've tried all possible options on the HP Displays but nothing seems to trigger the MacPRO to work properly with them. At random action the machine picks up the connection, but that is with lots of many attempts by me, re-boot, click on the input control etc..
It all drives me nuts not able to put my finger on the issue and its solution.
Many thanks!!
