Hi guys,
I recently bought a Mac Pro 5.1 with an nVidia Titan X 12Gb GPU (flashed by MVC) and a "back-up" GT 120.
I'm on OSX 10.11.4 with the appropriate nVidia Web Driver (346.03.06f01) and CUDA driver (7.5.26)
It's all working well except for one software I use for hobbying purposes called DazStudio, which is a novice-level 3D design and rendering program.
Where it will crash specifically when I check a box "Optix Prime Acceleration". It makes the rendering a whole lot faster, and without it I'm not really enjoying the power of my new computer.
Has anyone ever encountered the following crash report thread in any iRay rendering-ish stuff?
I've already spoken with the Daz support team and after many back-and-forths their conclusion was a simple brush off saying the GPU is unsupported on MacPro (I don't blame them though, they are a largely windows based community and probably can't get any help from nVidia on their end either). So I thought I'd try it here, at home, with the Mac based folk.
Perhaps it could be as simple as copying some files from one folder to another? Or deleting some?
I don't know. Anything, actually. I don't know anything.
Any help of any kind would be massively appreciated.
Thanks so much.
daniel
