Hi. Let's try this again since my last post was pulled down. I need some help with Final Cut Studio 2 which hosts Final Cut Pro 6.
I attempted to install FCP but it was dimmed and "skip"-ped in the installer window.
So naturally I consulted Dr. Google. THIS is what I found. What I can't find is the ProMediaIO.pkg file mentioned therein, so I opted to give Pacifist a try. $20 later and a semi-successful FCP install --as evidenced by my name and serial number showing up in the FCP startup window-- FCP crashes at startup.
Of course, I tried the "usual" fixes: trash Logic Pro, and obviously Rosetta had to be installed or I'd not have even run the FCP installer in the first place.
2008 Mac Pro 3,1 w/ 8 core Xeon, 12 gigs RAM partitioned for Mavericks so I can still use the internet and Snow Leopard so I can use my Mac Pro Apps without bugginess.
I'm now watching some new hard drives on evil bay as a contingency plan, that being a clean install of Snow Leopard, Final Cut Studio 2 and then Logic Pro Studio 9, in that order.
I have a migraine...
Blessings!
