Hi there,

I have an mp3 of a live recording that I would like to chop up into individual tracks... currently it's just one long mp3 of the entire show. Is there any software or trick to do this without having to decode the file and re-encode it? Thanks...

You can give AudioSlicer a try.

This program isn't really made for live music, because it looks for quiet portions to choose potential split points. The threshold for "quiet" is adjustable, so it may still do the job for you.
